Hi Gunjan,
your complaint about sensitive teeth can be due to a lot of reasons.
1) sensitivity due to aggressive brushing techniques - This causes wearing off of enamel leading to sensitivity. For this you can start using toothpastes with high fluoride, potassium nitrate content ( eg. sensodyne, Vantage) and change your toothbrush after every 3 months!
2) sensitivity due to wearing off of tooth enamel - A lot of time tooth-tooth contact, Gastric acid reflux, Clenching your teeth, leads to loss of enamel for which you can use Night guards, retainers which prevent attrition of teeth.
3) sensitivity due to cavities/ infection. - There might be a small cavity on the side of your tooth, which might not be visible. This causes sensitivity as the intake fluids come in contact with the nerve tissue (Pulp) of the tooth. For this you can get it checked by your dentist and get your fillings done before it progresses to a Root Canal Treatment.
Also, dont forget to Floss & Visit your dentist every 6 months!
